When it comes to engaging kids with reading, there’s no such thing as too early.
90% of kids are overdoing screen time, and parents are seeking meaningful offline experiences.
We created Badge Books to get kids reading more by bridging the analog and digital reading challenge experience. And we know that libraries are evolving in how they offer incentives to gain more use.
The Badge Book suits your unique program, and fits your budget.
Whether you already offer a pre-school reading challenge for families, or are ready to start one, the Badge Book will fit your program. The visual concept is simple, kid-friendly, and pairs easily with any in-house theme. The book itself is a durable hardcover that will last for years, and makes the perfect registration gift to inspire young families when they join your program.
By selling at wholesale, we’re able to offer the product to our customer libraries and schools at a 90% discount from the retail price.
How It Works
-
Design Your Challenge Your Way
Use Beanstack to design your 1000 Books challenge to include the theme and to give incentives for logging however you choose. We also offer a ready-to-roll template that matches the book.
-
Include Badges from the Badge Book
Use congratulatory badges from the Badge Book to make milestones within your challenge. You can also add additional prizes of your own.
-
Give Badge Books to Readers
Distribute the Badge Book to each family participating in a challenge, give them as a prize to some, or include them in a raffle.
-
An Exciting Registration or Raffle Prize
As kids (ages 5-10) get started on your reading challenge, or as they reach milestones, they receive their own individual Badge Book.
-
Virtual Badges Matched to Stickers
Kids and their families use Beanstack to track their reading and/or learning activities. They earn badges matched to stickers in the book.
-
Activities for Kids, Ideas for Caregivers
Kids get fun, easy activity pages, and their grownups get genre suggestions, fresh ideas for engagement, and up-to-date book recommendations.
The Badge Book gets families excited about your pre-school reading challenge — and builds a habit of reading that stays with a child for life.

Who’s Behind It?
Badge Books and Beanstack are both products of Zoobean, Inc.
Zoobean was founded by Jordan, the first head of K-12 education at Google, and her husband Felix, who was previously named Washington, DC’s Teacher of the Year. They gained an investment from Mark Cuban via the TV show Shark Tank.
The three values represented in our logo – love, inclusion, and awesomeness – are at the “heart” of all we do.
